Other FAQ

I'm a beginner. Where should I begin?

You are welcome to join the Anusara® Yoga Basics and/or Gentle Yoga classes to learn the basic yoga poses. However, in all of our classes we give clear instructions and demonstrate any poses that may be unfamiliar. We are used to teaching different levels in a given class, as it is customary that there will be students of different levels of experience and knowledge. That way, also as a newcomer, you will be fine.

What should I wear? What should I bring?

The studio is equipped with enough props to practice, so you don’t have to bring your own mat. But if you prefer, you can of course bring your own mat. Wear comfortable clothing: not too wide and not too tight, for example leggings or shorts. Do not use perfume or strong smelling deodorant. We practice barefoot.

Just before class

We like it when you come on time so we can start the class in peace and quiet. Don’t forget to turn off your phone. Please inform us about injuries or medical problems that may be important to your practice. Also tell us if you are pregnant. That way we can teach you the correct, possibly adapted, way of yoga.

Eat and drink

It is advised not to take a full meal from 2 hours before class and no snacks 1 hour before class. Following a class with a full stomach feels very uncomfortable.

Do I need a Covid Safe certificate?

Since Monday 7th March 2022, it is no longer required to present a Covid Safe certificate. We still encourage students to keep a safe distance and to not come to class should they be feeling unwell and/or have a cough.
